More than 60 artists from about 40 different countries exhibit their work around a general theme that is set by a guest curator every other year. You'll find conventional hangings, art installations, video screenings, walkabouts, films, panel discussions, lectures and even daily guided tours (in English). It is held in several different venues, some of which include the Aya İrini, the adjacent old Ottoman Mint building, the Yerebatan Sarayı (Yerebatan Basilica Cistern) and the fortress at Rumeli Hisarı.
